Having a consistent spirit, searching for a complete success and MADE IN JAPAN – these were our main core values when the Master Build Series was created. One of the core values was produced by our model adviser, Charmas Kitamura , who has become the master fisherman after fighting many dream fish in the world. Including him, and with the great collaborations, we finally built one of the perfect model MB SPRINT STICK series. We needed lifting power on the fishing rod against Tuna, as well as a smooth rod that can bend when fighting. We have succeeded in creating a low-module graphite blank that matches with a spring stick to specialize in catching tuna. As for the Yellowtail and Yellowtail amberjack, this model will show you the flexibility that is proven by our knowledge of producing powerful and bendable rods. In order to catch large targets, we have accomplished these series. As having Charmas’s in our production team, we made sure to materialize his fishing plans for “just for catching” in the blank that was born in the Japanese craft maker. They also feature the selected parts which are made by hand by specialists. An extraordinarily quality is in every part of this series, you will experience the top class grade in the MASTER BUILD SERIES.

711H
Heavy action assuming a fight with tuna
Although the GT Rod, Tuna Rod and Topwater Rod might seem similar, they actually aren’t. GT is an amazing rod if you enjoy speedy action with a strong bat. It has a steady setting from the top to the bottom for casting long distance and you can plug your favourite lure. As for the Tuna rod, a keen quality is the flexible blank, which will be of great assistance when you are feeling that pressure on your back. This 711H is built specifically for Tuna fishing and the material is a low elastic blank that has careful, selected high standard components. Due to the developments of the topwater fishing game, we were required to adapt to bait patterns accordingly. We evaluated many combinations between the size of baits, plugs and lures and finally reached to one of the Supremes, that is this model, 711H. Yes you can try with approx.. 100 g plug and can set a dragging power up to 12kg for you to catch large tuna.

COMMENT
INTERVIEW WITH HIDEYUKI KITAMURA
Q. You caught 72kg of striped marlin off Hitachi in 2015 right? If I am correct you caught it with our SPRINT STICK didn’t you?
A. That’s right, I used the 711HH TUNA model at that time.
Q. The 711HH model is able to handle about a 17kg drag at the maximum weight but what drag do you use it with?
A. For me, the maximum is 9kg. The 7kg can be a bit tough if you are aiming for big ones. Occasionally I go stronger on dragging but I intentionally let the drag go when the target is coming near, it would be hard if it’s getting closer with the strong drag.
Q. What do you care about the most in terms of fighting with big fish?
A. Having the rod be able to bend fully. Give pressure throughout and then make the head of fish toward to you. Giving pressure to the rod throughout and then making the head of the fish come towards you. You would notice when your technical method is working with the flexible rod just like when you’re using the SPRINT.
Q. The SPRINT is built with a Japanese low elasticity carbon so please explain to us what the strengths are with using this material.
A. Well you know the SPRINT gives us not only low elasticity but also eases the pressure on our hands. There is more than that, but it’s also easy to handle high pressure on fish and you will have a higher possibility with catching bigger fish.
Q. Don’t you think the low elasticity carbon is a bit heavy?
A. That’s possible but thanks to Japanese technologies, they can produce the light ones. Did you know the 711HH’s blank is only 140g?
Q. Wow, that’s light! With my impression, the low elasticity carbon has a tendency with not being able to cast a long distance
A. I wonder if you are not using it right? (- laughing) Don’t push and cast. Do pull and cast. Also here is a tip. Change the length between the top of the rod and lure depending on what lure you are using. When the lure is heavy, make the length short. I often see that everyone gets excited about finding floating fish and then pay less attention on the length. Be chill. You will be in charge of handling the rod and focus with the excellent rod like this, the SPRINT.
